Development of dental treatment methods using powder jet machining
Powder Jet Machining (PJM) is a blast machining method that removes objects (Abrasive Jet Machining, AJM) or deposits impacted particles (Powder Jet Deposition, PJD) by impacting fine particles onto the object to be machined at high speed. PJM allows for selective use of AJM and PJD simply by changing the processing conditions, thus enabling processing under ambient temperature and atmospheric pressure conditions.
This laboratory aims to develop dental treatment methods utilizing PJM as a new biomaterial interface. In particular, PJD is an innovative method to construct new tooth enamel, and we are investigating the deposition dynamics of impacted particles by using numerical analysis and experiments.
